Silky sweet potato and coconut puree

← Back to Resources

Level 4 · Pureed: smooth with no lumps, holds its shape on a spoon, and needs no chewing. What do the levels mean?

Serves: 2 · Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 large sweet potato, peeled and cubed

  • ¼ cup coconut milk, plus more as needed

  • 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt or silken tofu (for protein)

  • A pinch of salt and cinnamon or ginger

Steps

  1. Boil or steam the sweet potato until very soft, about 15 minutes.

  2. Blend with the coconut milk, yogurt and seasoning until completely smooth, with no lumps or skins.

  3. Adjust with a spoonful of coconut milk at a time until it holds its shape on a spoon and slides off in one piece when tilted.

Check it: it should sit in a mound on a fork and not drip through.

This recipe is a general idea, not a personal diet plan. Always follow the swallowing level recommended by your speech-language pathologist or care team.
